The direct financial cost of our parish ministries is just over $403,000/year. If this was to be covered completely by Stewardship, it would amount to just about $1,150/year, or $96/month
per household.
The volunteer hours that are needed to run our parish total about 21,500 hours. Split evenly, it would be about 62 hours/year, or less than 1.25 hours/week per household.
Stewardship is utilizing and managing all the resources God has provided for the Glory of God. Stewardship is the giving of our time, treasures, and talents to honor and serve God. Everything we have belongs to God and belongs to God. Let us thoughtfully consider how we can meaningfully repay Him for the many gifts we have received.
Stewardship (42%, $170,708) is an important aspect of the Christian Life. It is the primary way of supporting the ministries of our church. Our stewardship should adequately reflect our priorities and our devotion to our parish home. We are called to work together in the various volunteer opportunities of ministries vital to our parish. We receive grace from God for everything we give. Please encourage your family and friends to join our parish and become more actively involved in our parish ministries.
Candles & Collections (29%, $118,232) are very dependent on church attendance. We need to attend church regularly, partake of communion frequently, and live our Orthodox Faith in a way that expresses our priorities and devotion to God and to our community.
Fundraisers (21%, $83,422) include our Summer Festival and Raffle. This amount varies based on unpredictable weather and attendance. It requires a significant amount of volunteer hours to achieve. It is for the good of the parish to rely less on fundraisers to cover our expenses and limit this uncertainty.
Donations (8%, $31,261) include the Christmas, Pascha, flower, and memorial donations as well as any other gifts offered by the faithful.
Part of one’s Stewardship is offering Time and Talents to God through service to our parish. It is also a way to create meaningful relationships among our parish family. There are many opportunities for you to use YOUR talents and time at our parish. We have many ministries for you to take part in.
While monetary Stewardship is vital to the well-being of our community, the success of our ministries requires a tremendous amount of volunteering. The following are estimates of how many total hours our volunteers contribute at St. Spyridon:
